Release Party in SLC? (Was "We got funded" party)
I am still game to participate and provide assistance in getting things organized.
If there is sufficient interest I could start compiling some interesting things and locals for a scavenger hunt based in the SLC area. I even know a couple of cool Tex tied locations.
Best regards,
KvE

Politics is like a corral. No matter where you are you will always be shoveling it.
I would love to go to a Fedora launch party!
I just hope the date is set to take place sometime after launch so that we have time to finish the game before the party. A month after release would be good.
However, even pinpointing a date after release might be difficult. The game’s release, as with any other game, may be delayed by a few weeks or months. BFG seems to be right on track for a fall 2013 release right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up releasing in early 2014 to polish and playtest the game. If a launch party date is chosen for the fall, it may end up being a “3 months before release” party instead of a “launch party”. Not only will choosing a later date be safer, it will allow us to finish the game too.

Maybe the best way to go for this party would be to wait until the release date is announced, then make arrangments for travel to SLC for like, 3, 5, 7, days before that date to initate activities (scavenger hunt, etc.) with a big party on the actual release date. Then go home the next day to play the game
I could wait one more day to start playing it after waiting all these years...
Things (activities, locations, etc.) could be discussed and planned ahead of time except for the travel dates.
