Which actors do you want to see return?

I was thinking about new actors I would like to see in Fedora; people like David Hewlett (Dr. Rodney McKay in Stargate) or even Keifer and/or Donald Sutherland.

That got me thinking about actors from the previous games. Obviously, some of the actors cannot return because they've passed on, but I'm really hoping they can get James Earl Jones to reprise his role. There are others I would like to see return of course, but I'm wondering what other actors people are anxious to see again.
I'm hoping some of those old characters that did post videos at Kickstarter will reappear.

Big Jim Slade
Archie Ellis
Luscious Lucy Luv

I would love to see David Hewlett in the game too! I think he could fit in well. Like Sam, I would also like to see Big Jim Slade, and Archie.

Count me down for all 3! Btw is it Love now instead of Luv?
I must be the only Tex fan who doesn't care to see JEJ come back. He was great in UAKM, don't get me wrong--but unless they give him a different role, it will seem cheesier than I want from this game. I like the tone of PD the best. And if they give him a different role, won't a lot of the nostalgic appeal be diminished? I'd be happy enough if they found a really cool new role for him, though, and the big name might help sales...but enough to offset the cost of hiring him?

OK, my blasphemy is done. Sorry, Lord!

On an undoubtedly unrelated note, I just heard the sounds of heavy breathing along with a voice saying something about a disturbing lack of faith, or some such rot. My throat is also feeling strangely constricted suddenly, but that's probably just allergies, don't you think?

OOHHHH! How dare you! Nobody talks bad about JEJ! Seriously I liked those bits from UAKM because it was so different from the other games. Other games you just die abruptly and then go to load up a saved game. I thought it was a great idea to make the death be a bit more momentous. I felt in Pandora when Tex just shrugs his shoulders to be too goofy for me.

If they can't afford JEJ, I'd be okay with others with good voices like Morgan Freeman. I enjoyed his narration in March of the Penguins. Or how about Patrick Stewart? He's got a great voice on American Dad.

No, you are not the only one who thinks this... I LOVE UAKM, but I think some Tex fans just secretly want a remake of the first game. Whereas I want something new and more akin to Pandora Directive. I was SOOO pleased to hear Chris talking about the great Alan Wake, a game, which in my mind is criminally underrated and I'd love to see some of that games tone and style seep into this sequel.

I don't see how JEJ fits into a new game, the big PI in the Sky gimmick was nice in the first game, but the excuse they used for why he was turning his attention to Murphy wouldn't jive with him yet again having Murphy picked to save the world again. It was a cute gamey aside, akin to the narrators in Kings Quest, Space Quest etc who berated you for being an idiot when you got killed, but I'd rather just not have it as Pandora and Overseer were perfectly great games without it. I'd rather they spend the money to hire people who would play deeper roles in the game than the PI in the Sky did.

In the end, it's Chris and Aaron's call... if they truly think the PI in the Sky fits the game, then have at it, I just fear that they might be thinking of doing it ONLY because of the fans demanding it.

Oh, and for the love of PI in the Sky, please, NO Luscious Lucy Luv... She may be a nice woman, but she was a terrible actress.

I'd love to see a return of Archie playing a sort of "Lone Gunmen" style support role in the new game.
Other characters I'd like to see return...

Zach Williams, that is, if the Electronics Shop still fits into the game... or if they find another use for the character. I enjoyed the performance that Curley Green gave.

Crazy Gary Lee. I LOVE Crazy Gary, and I've said it before but I'll be sad if there's no Church of Gary Lee on Chandler Ave.

I'd also like to see Clint and Nilo return.
The Chandler Ave gang are pretty much all a must: We already know Louie, Rook and Clint will be back, but Gary, Ardo and Nilo would be great too. For the Electronics Shop, I would like either of the two proprietors back. It could be interesting if Hamm Underwood returned from wherever he went :)

Beyond Chandler Ave I think I'd like to see Slade, Lucia Pernell and Archie all return. I think Pernell could fill the void that will unfortunately be left by the absence of Mac Malden.
My favourite game was Pandora Directive and I like the balance it struck between humour and drama. But I'm fine with James Earl Jones making a comeback, he has a pretty stern dramatic voice which could fit the tone. I don't think it necessarily has to be that he has set Tex on a path to save the world (I get the feeling the next game will focus on you pursuing Chelsee and your missing speeder, which may grow into something bigger but talking about saving the world from the getgo would be jumping the gun). I think it'd be cool if he was just there to help bring him back, saying it is not his time yet. Kind of like in the pitch video, he just popped up when he was already dead but didn't do a big spiel before. It would also cost less that way of course too!

I think they could use Pandora Directive as a template and just add more humour where it fits to lift the tone for comedy relief without feeling out of place. If it would fit, I wouldn't mind Beek or other quirky Mutants popping up as shadowy informants for example (maybe in the dark and dangerous addition to Chandler with severely mutated citizens).

From what we've heard so far the next story will be very gritty but keep the humour, which does sound like a Pandora Directive kind of balance, quote from Adrian (regarding Overseer's more serious/drama tone with less humour and Aaron's concern that it got a bit "soap opera" at times):
As Aaron said I too recall there was much discussion, well debate about the direction the story of Overseer would take.

I think that some of the humour and dialogue by supporting characters seemed a little forced and came across a little melodramatic given the overall dramatic thrust of the story, this contrast could be what Aaron means by turning it a bit ‘soap opera-y’. However, with only a singular path we could not explore the other aspects we love about Tex that we get to see on the multiple paths and I personally would like to have seen more his cynical humour throughout.

As Tex travels further into more dangerous territory he cannot, I feel, go backwards, that doesn’t mean we can’t maintain his sense of humour it just means the stakes are higher… and we will definitely not become ‘soap opera-y’ in Project Fedora.

I would definitely like to see Archie again. His Kickstarter video was my favourite out of the returning actors. There was too many good things to vote for on the Chandler list so I couldnt fit in Cosmic Connection but it could be a place you travel to like in Pandora. But anyway I think Archie likes it in the safety of the Bermuda Triangle so I don't see him setting up shop again on a street that sees a lot of danger. He could just be an informant on vidphone.

Of course its great some regulars are confirmed like Rook, Louie and Clint. I am looking forward to seeing what Clint is up to now. I heard in the Meltdown Radio chat with Chris Jones that Nilo was meant to make a Kickstarter video but something came up I guess, I hope he will be back for the game still. It'd be cool to see Hamm Underwood running the Electronics Shop again. And it'd be cool to see Aaron return in some more hardly recognizable forms (as Ardo and/or someone else).

The host for RetroNick was keen on Francesca returning, the lady who runs the Slice O' Haven pizza place, but sadly she is no longer with us. But it was touching to hear her daughter may take up the mantle.

I would like to see The Golden Gate Hotel Re-Opened with Ardo Newpop as the owner. But maybe this time The Golden Gate Hotel gets remodeled with a New Casino on the main floor by Ardo as he maybe just won the lottery with simple but yet dumb luck playing numbers he seen on Inspector Burns Fire Safety Show.

I also think it would be cool to see Nilo back in the game as he always made me laugh.

Last but not least I would love to see Gus Leach owner of the Fuchsia Flamingo nightclub.

I think if Ardo won the lottery, he'd be far more likely to open an Inspector Burns museum at the hotel than a casino. :) A casino doesn't seem in his character. Now Nilo on the other hand....
Ardo could open the Inspector Burns BBQ place!

Personally, I don't want anyone who has so far appeared only in UAKM to come back. I just don't think they fit into the post-Pandora Directive world... They COULD make it work, but I don't think so.
