I have every faith in Aaron Conners' abilities as a writer to integrate a rivalry into the story for maximum awesomeness with unforeseen twists. I really think he'd make it work, and moreover, in a way none of us would have expected.
And a rivalry between Chris Jones and Bruce Campbell? How does this NOT appeal to you?

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I've done some more thinking and a problem with the Casino is it basically negates cash. With enough saved games one can easily max out cash. But perhaps it can be cleverly integrated in the game with annoying odds or winning limits.
I'm on the fence with the rival PI. It would be cool to compete on a sub case like Rook's Pawnshop burglary, but I see it as too many cooks for the entire game and Tex doesn't need hand holding. If there is a rival PI does that mean its a race for leads and inventory items?
Tex: "I'll pay you $500 to give this guy or broad false information."

Or victory can be canned and based on some kind of puzzle. Figuring out how to beat a fixed game, and then getting banned from the Casino, perhaps.Bjyman wrote:I've done some more thinking and a problem with the Casino is it basically negates cash. But really, if they put a Casino in it, I want the return of Big Dick Castro or I'll be very disappointed.
Noooo too many options aaaaahhhh!!
I love that Pet Shop is on there. As Matthew said I imagine it to be full of Mutated pets like the Geiger pet Eddie Ching was keeping in Under A Killing Moon. I am curious to see what other unusual creatures Aaron etc. could come up with and what Tex would have to say about it. And like the Geiger some of the pets could prove useful in your inventory
I wonder if I don't vote for Rusty's to be re-opened would that mean it'd get scrapped entirely. Or would it remain closed but still explorable if you break in? I kind of like the creepy abandoned aspect of it. I know we discussed earlier about possibly finding a hidden trapdoor to a basement too. But if its re-opened and all bright and colourful like a restored clown shop would be you might not be able to explore around, above or under it as much. Hmm... But I do want Rusty's to stay so hmm...
Church of Crazy Gary sounds funny but I think hanging out in a back alley suits him
BBQ Restaurant run by Inspector Burns
Ardo would never get any work done in the Golden gate if that opened!
Abandoned Buildings to explore. Well if Rusty remains on the street and stays abandoned this might already be covered. As well as the old empty warehouse etc. But I do really like exploring those kinds of places as they tend to be the most atmospheric and let you wander around a lot so hmm.
Detox Center (for people with Chocolate Addictions)
Sounds funny but I wonder if some of these places would be funny at first and then kinda take up space afterwards due to limited scope (beyong e.g. Clint unless it expands to other addictions). I do really like Clint though and seeing him trying to give up chocolate could be quite a scene.
Is a Wonder Emporium a place that just stocks anything and everything or is it another way of saying a big toy store or candy place etc.? When I look on Google I just get "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" over and over.

Same. I had thought they were just going to pick whatever they wanted from all the suggestions. I guess this might just be to help narrow things down for them to consider further.Frogacuda wrote:I just kind of hope they don't take the poll too seriously. Might be they're just testing the waters to see which ideas would land favorably. It is ultimately up to them, however.

They didn't end up doing anything with their poll about possible options for sweetening the 30% stretch goal. Of course, they didn't end up needing it, either. But I think the point is, it probably is a poll rather than an election.Frogacuda wrote:I just kind of hope they don't take the poll too seriously. Best to pick places that a significant amount of time will be spent in the game. One place that was labeled "Music & Movies" (i think) should also include the "Arcade" and call it the Entertainment Center as a place to go for a break & relax. That's where the golf simulator would be, and maybe some music and video clips from previous Access Software games, like "Wild Women from Wongo Wongo" or even and edited version of "Plan 10..." The second place, I'd change from antique shop to junk yard with open space to explore and get chased by mutant dogs. The third, I voted to reopen the Clown shop and think it would be cool to get Tim Curry (Moneypenny from "It") to be Rusty's brother seeking vengance.
I definitely want Rusty's back but I think I like it being abandoned and creepy and more explorable than it would be if it was another shop. Like finding a hidden trapdoor to a basement etc.HANK wrote:The third, I voted to reopen the Clown shop and think it would be cool to get Tim Curry (Moneypenny from "It") to be Rusty's brother seeking vengance.
However now that you say it I do like the idea of having a creepy relative of Rusty running the restored shop who is out for revenge. I hadn't heard of the one you mentioned so I looked it up, apparently it was actually "Pennywise", its bizarre it was played by Tim Curry lol, it would be cool to see Tim in the game in some form.

I was curious about some of the options before I decide e.g. Rusty's, Inspector Burns etc. I want to pick them but if they would still appear in the game in some other way (e.g. Rusty's abandoned if not re-opened, Burns on TV, I might pick others.... ARGH hard to decide!). The answer is kinda relevant to some of the above discussion:Jerry Dan wrote:They didn't end up doing anything with their poll about possible options for sweetening the 30% stretch goal. Regarding the new locations: these were all just fan submitted suggestions that we collected from Facebook and created a poll for. Nothing is determined yet, this is just to see what people are interested in. We just wanted some fan input and reaction to these options.

I kind of like the idea of being able to explore abandoned buildings. Remember when you clicked that creepy window in Rook's Alley and Tex comments: "It feels like somebody's watching...someone really weird..."(in UAKM) and "Something's going on behind that window. Something I don't want to know about..."(in Pandora)
This always had me intrigued, and I always wanted to know what was behind that window. The closest we ever got to reaching that general area behind the window was when entering Sal's secret liquor stash and fetching the Scotch for Crazy Gary.
I was just exploring that area a little more in depth to find out which building the window belongs to, and it looks like it belongs to the backside of some closed business behind Slice'O'Heaven. It would be neat to finally be able to explore that building and find out what really went on behind that window - who knows, maybe it was Nilo's Playbub den
On another note, during my exploration I found something in Pandora I'd never seen before - an easter egg of sorts - at least to me. If while in the hallway behind Slice'O'Heaven you move a metal sheet on the wall, it reveals a door, which then upon passing through leads you to the top of the fire-escape behind Rook's...in front of the door that's "painted on"...LoL, I thought that was cool ~
So yeah, abandoned buildings for sure...I feel this really might add to the atmosphere, and who knows what you might find? Crazy Gary's "home", "Morlocks", old newspapers covering WWIII, items to gather and combine with other items to get past a puzzle...kinda like exploring Thomas Malloy's warehouse after it blew up. All drippy and wet with rats scuttling about.

I voted for a rival PI as my first choice. Having worked as a PI, I know how crazy competition and individual investigation practices can get. This could be a big story line!Fred Buer wrote:Why on EARTH would anyone NOT vote for Rival P.I.? This opens up SO MUCH potential for awesome storytelling!
Imagine them pranking eachother!
Imagine them hating eachother over some femme fatale client!
Imagine them teaming up for the Big Bad Villain!
Imagine them reconciling as the Rival P.I. dies near the end to give Tex the means to save the world (again)!
And now imagine the rival P.I. played by Bruce Campbell!
This needs to happen
