"Tex Murphy - Project Fedora" is now live on Kickstarter.

It's probably what prompted them to post a message about it publically. So we didn't all go on their Twitters  I'm glad they're taking an active part in the Kickstarter comments. :)

I happen to be a Zippo Collector, so if you do decide to up your contribution please let me know... I'll happily take as many of them as I can get... Can never have too many duplicates of Zippos, regardless of the design...

Can't wait! Huge Tex fan here. Played them all multiple times. When I heard of the Kickstart campaign I nearly popped. Been waiting and wishing for this since I was a kid and finished Overseers. :D
Project Fedora is featured on the frontpage of kickstarter.com as project of the day!

How cool is that!? I love that its on 73%, I'm getting more and more excited the closer it gets.

I know it might be pre-empting things, but I've bought a small bottle of champagne to open when it all finishes, to raise a toast to the guys and to every backer who made it happen.

Haha Cathy for a moment your video was linked instead of Basti's in the latest update. And they were telling them to go to the middle for info about the German prepaid card. Probably a lot of people just saw a cat going "BAM BAM!" and thought Huh??
Hope you dont mind I got them to change it, I did preface it with "Cathy is a SUPER AWESOME COOL person and her cat totally rocks!" if it makes it any better!

(Not sure why it amde me double post too on there, seems others have accidentally double/triple posted on Kickstarter though too).

I'm so nervous, someone reassure me! I do think we will make it - I just hope we get loads more backers.

Here's some reassurance:

If we average just $6,000 per day from now until June 12th (today included) we will be at $400,496. That leaves us the final three days to get $50,000. Most Kickstarters manage that sort of ramp up at the end. The most similar one to Tex is Jane Jensen's, which took in about that much in it's last three days.

And here's some better news: Ignoring our great first four days, we have averaged about $9,500/day. So even if this falls a bit, we're still getting more than $6,000/day.

This will happen. I'm quite confident. The real question becomes how much over will we go?

You were super sweet. Glad you caught it, although I am a little bummed I missed it - I would have taken a screen shot! I probably confused the poor guys when I emailed them to tell them they had my wrong video on their BFG YouTube playlist. I just looked and I have a 100 more views than a day ago! Basti definitely had WAY more useful and practical info in his video. And did you see someone mentioned how detailed your payment guide was? They said you were a dedicated fan.

Thanks to James at unofficial Tex Murphy message board for giving me a heads up about this I might have missed it.

The last hour or so, things have really picked up. We've added a bunch of new backers and are almost at $141,000 now. I think we may hit our required $8,200 for the day, and we're definitely going to score a lot of new backers, which is good for our 4,500 backer goal by Wednesday.

Well they said +20% over is needed for subtitles in other languages and +30% over is needed for stuff like hiring big name actors like in past games, making the game longer with more paths etc. Do you think we'll make it? :( I am REALLY hoping the +30% is possible because I really want them to be able to make it like Pandora etc. with all those great actors (alongside the usual familiar cast of home street regulars of course). And of course more paths would be great! Pandora had quite a lot.

Yeah I was very pleased :) It did take a lot of work to do but I wanted to make sure the guys didnt lose out on all those folks without credit cards which for example in Germany with their big adventure gaming scene is important. I'm glad Basti realised it too and I got them to update the payment guide with his Kalixa info.

My only regret is the guide was up near Day 1 of the campaign but has been hidden on the BFG site until now (even I didnt know it was up...). Also I do think it should be linked on the main page as well, because its mainly for those who havent pledged yet and newcomers to the page, not current backers who are the main group of people who see Updates. But it is good that it was made an update like DoubleFine did to announce no credit card options.

In the Skype interview Chris did yesterday, he said they could do some big name actors with $450,000. My guess is, we can hit $500,000, but not much more than that. I hope if we do reach that, they sacrifice the idea of Xbox and iPad in favour of adding more content and bigger name actors to the game, and for those international folks, subtitles.

Yeah but I kinda got the feeling he was hinting that unless it went to the +30% the casting would be alot more limited since he said they would just have to try and see who they could get at that kind of lower figure. In the RetroNick interview they seemed to say outrightly with regard to stretch goals past 450k they had "very recognisable name" actors on a contact list, in the skype with a conservative goal in mind he just said "name actors" and that if they go over the goal they'd have more freedom in seeing who they could come up with to cast. Unless I'm understanding it wrong I felt it said if they dont hit the +30% they won't be able to reach out to those "very recognisable" ones (like how Michael York in the last game) and its those actors who would also likely help the game sell better once it hit distribution outside backers and existing fans.
