what does "ferallette" mean and what this sport is all about?

In Under A Killing Moon, before Tex is taken to the Moon Child, he's captured and taken to this guy called Ferrel Pus. After a brief interrogation, Ferrel challenges Tex to a game of his design, Ferrelette, through which Tex earns a trip to the Moon Child. The game itself is a shell game. One ball had a ticket, the other 3 had killer spider bots. You had to guess the ticket 4 times to win.

as my translate.ru hints me "face off against" is like "confrontation", but i can`t see the word play

Often when two people play each other in one-on-one sport, it is called a "face off"... otherwise known as the act of staring someone down, or looking at them with their "game face" on. Also, it's a pun, becuase as you will recall in UAKM when the spider attacks Tex, it leaps onto his face. The pun here is, if one loses: the spider will tear his face off.

I'm working on the vid too, and since I'm not much into sports, can please someone explain me what the hell is a "pregame match up"? Or at least "pregame match up" is what I hear, I beg you pardon if I misunderstood the words

guess, it`s something like "match for heating up", aperitif-before-the-main-dish kind of game
but i`m not $450,000 sure

A match up us when players or teams are compared against each other (info, statistics, etc) before a game and discussed in terms of each ones advantages or disadvantages, as a prelude to the upcoming game.

Ever see a Boxing Match??? Two fighters fight each other in a ring??? Well that's basically a "Face-Off" between those 2 Fighters...

It's slang for the most part... It originates from Ice Hockey... When they drop the Puck on the ice in between the 2 Centers, they call it a "Face-Off", meaning Face the Puck, but it got carried over into other things and is used quite widely now...

but not in non-english speaking countries, i presume
