You know what would be great? Instead of a mere montage, if they turned portions of the vids into Vidphone conversations.

Hell, we ought to stage and script some parts of them so it fits into the montage, with Chris ''interracting'' with some of the convos. Newcommers won't get it, but I'm sure anyone who's played the game would get a good laugh out of it. There's enough time to pull it off if we get it organised.

A vidphone interface is a great idea :lol: It could have the names of the people on the top right in green as if Tex is selecting to call each of them. And maybe the dialogue options that appear bottom right in red could be the questions that people have answered e.g. "What appealed most to you about Tex Murphy?" etc. I stumbled across this thread where Electron Stu made a vidphone interface:

Even if it wasn't scripted etc. (assuming it'd be tricky to organise) I think it could work very nicely as just an interface. If I remember right, during usual gameplay in Tex Murphy I think you mainly just selected questions on the bottom right and then they'd automatically answer rather than Tex directly interacting back via vidphone himself though during some scenes that did happen. Either way, it'd be very cool to see something in that vein as it'd make it unique to the Tex Murphy series.

Yah, I just got overly excited for a second, and figured it might be worth it to re-record some portions, with a vidphone convo in mind. Either way works with me!

Heh yeah it'd be cool either way, great idea. Be sure to send it in via their contact page, they have a category for Kickstarter suggestions and they responded to me when I hadn't expected a reply so hopefully they'll get back to you.

I could test this out with my video editing, and take some clips from the vid phones, insert another shot from my video camera, and use a still of the actual vid phone from the gameplay and see how it works.

AWESOME idea.

I've seen a few of the video tex-timonials and they're great, but what we really need is SOUND BITES - short, zingy comments that we can easily edit for the KS video.

In keeping with the vid-phone idea, how about responding to questions like these (feel free to add more) as if they're "Ask Abouts":

Describe Tex Murphy games in 20 words or less?
