Overseer dvd - no sound in movies

I see where people have sound but no video, but my problem is no sound in the videos. Everything else works fine. Is this a dvdexpress problem or something else? The game itself plays great with no freezes or crashes. Even the midi music works. I just can't hear anything during the movies. Thanks for any advice.
not sure if you are the same person who posted on gog or not,

when overseer starts & you get the first screen the blue sky do you get sound then.

if you are using the original dvd what you need to do is take out of your drive & throw it against the wall & use the cd.

so... any suggestions how to throw an original dvd ISO image against the wall?

yes the recycle bin. Maybe you think I'm not much help but after all its been 14yrs & I tired.
the dvd has too many problems with modern day systems.(it only worked with win 98)
if you can get it going it will constantly crash throughout the game, do yourself a favour & forget it & play the cd. The cd gog version works fine or burn the cd's to a dvd disk with the help of HD installer you will find in past posts under support.

Overseer will not work on 64 bit machine, you need gog's for that.

No I am not the same person, but I have no sound with the blue sky.
I am using the original dvd. I might try the wall thing next time I feel a need to break something, which is often with my pain in the ass boss getting on my case.
you may have not done the sound setup with intel rxsd sound. open the dvd disk &copy the folder to overseer folder & then do the setup. If you are trying this on 64 bit machine forget it.

Some people copied the dvd to the hard drive & played the game this way but it didn't work for me, well not for very long anyway.

Well I was trying to run this on my XP desktop which I figured would at least give it a chance to work. So I pretty much just decided to forget it. Then just out of curiousity I thought I would try it on my laptop running windows 7 64 bit that everyone says won't work. But it does work! It crashes once in a while but it actually runs pretty well. The only difference is no midi but I don't care. The movies have sound so good enough. It will probably have more issues later on in the game but I didn't even think I could get it to install or run at all.
I had it going for a while but it gets to a point that when it crashes it will constantly crash at that point. Val davis lab is a classic & at gideons gallery thats where the midi problem starts.
I have midi working but I have a sound card & in win 7 microsoft disabled the midi selector.
There is a midi patch file that someone wrote for vista that works but only if your sound has the capability. In the config panel in overseer when it comes up as standard microsoft midi thats the one that does not work. "The error message "which plays right through the game is all about the midi. without the right midi selected you will crash at gideons gallery thats why we have always recommend the midi being muted.

Once you travel towards clarke's lab when you use the ladder over the chasam thats where the unrecoverable crash is. change decoder in config panel from hardware to software til you crash through the wall & then you can change back.

Thanks for all the help and info you have given me. I will see how far I get and when I can get no further without constant crashes I will switch to the cd's. I'm just enjoying being able to play it. I love these games. I hope all works out for the new one.
