new tex murphy game

any word if a new tex game is in development? or is this series done for good?
As long as the Original Creators have the Copyrights and say they haven't quit yet, then we as the fans must keep hope... And until Aaron Conners and Chris Jones both say they've lost hope and give up, or the unfortunate hand of death takes them, then I have to say that the story of Tex will eventually be told...

At this moment, unless they are keeping it from us, the funding for a game is not there, but as I said the Creators still have hope of making another game... So the Series is Not dead...

This may get me boos, but since the trilogy is already written I think the game(s) could be made without Aaron.

That's one of the reasons why I said Both AC and CJ...

In reality it could be done without either of them, but it would be no where near as good... The only way that would happen though would be for them to lose the copyrights...

Seriously though, I really don't think one would do it without the other...

I suppose what I was suggesting was "the unfortunate hand of death takes Chris" would be more accurate barring CJ giving his cells for cloning. Well there's also cryonics. Anyways having another actor play Tex is what would really be a nightmare.

I'd love to see Aaron write beyond the trilogy though with another exclusive 2043 Pandora-esque adventure, but that seems to be pie in the sky thinking.
well obviously you two did watch the overseer review video when tex stated he will be at big finish games.com sooner than you think. Sooner may be only a few days away

I only got through part of it due to YouTube problems. If it's spoilerish someone can PM me about it.

Yes I heard the phone conversation... Sadly I've lost faith in simple words... AC promised us a teaser from the new novel he is working on... How long ago was that??? A teaser doesn't have to be very much, but we haven't seen anything yet, just a few pages would be tantalizing... We were teased with the "Secret Project Fedora" and then that icon was removed from the Big Finish site...

I don't doubt AC's and CJ's heart and devotion in regards to Tex, but as with many things I'm more of a man of science and logic, I seek proof at this point... I hold out hope as much as any of you and I'll be as giddy as a school child when a Tex game finally emerges... But until we see something concrete, I have to apologize for my skepticism...

I think if there were updates like every 6 months it might boost morale.
While that sounds like a nice idea, we're assuming that the semi-regular updates will deliver something new. Part of the reason that things have been quiet is because little to nothing has changed. For this reason I can understand why AC & CJ have been somewhat muted on the prospect of another TM related release because to report back to us with bad news or "something's on the way" with nothing to follow from it would just disappoint. From there, the updates would be meaningless.

Case in point, I think part of the irregular nature of the updates stems from AC & CJ's love of the fans because they hate the idea of us being disappointed.
Yea, I am kind of glad they are sparing us the emotional roller coaster ride they themselves are on.

If you want regular updates, just look at the game development history between 3D Realms and fans of Duke Nukem Forever. Even in its finished state, the fans are still eating sour grapes. Though it is a pretty poor game.
i think in the light of recent L.A. Noire`s facial achivments (and Quantic Dream`s "Kara" too), AC/CJ should leave fmv for good and use this new technology in their next TM game(s).
that way they could digitize Tex Murpy`s face, preserve it in all it`s glory and stop wasting time (and money) on make-up

An update just to say we have nothing new to update would still be an update. As far as roller coasters go I don't think it would be playing with emotions if the updates were detailed enough. To be honest I considered the phone call in the Overseer review just that because it was vague.
