Blade Runner Sequels and Prequels anyone?

Very much as the title of the thread reads. Obviously a very gutsy thing to do given the respect the film has earned over the decades in contrast to the initial reactions to the film. I can actually see pros and cons to this. On the one hand, the Blade Runner legacy stays alive by means other than yet another Directors Cut and maybe we'll see some of those other Blade Runner novels developed onto the screen.
But i'm not sure who I trust more than Ridley Scott than to handle this baby. Christopher Nolan would be an amazing choice. If it were him, i'd back it all the way without question. He's easily one of the finest directors of this generation, if not the best.

Well, at least they are not remaking the original.
Someone would have to pay if they did that.
Deckard is Harrison Ford and they can't remake it without him.
I have to admit, I did really enjoy the adventure game and how it was parallel to the movie.
An interesting sequel would be Ford playing Deckard again years in the future.
Anyway, my guess is these movies will be terrible.
Someone stated in the comments to the article it was the Terminator Franchise all over again.
Ironically, I didn't mind those sequels.

I really liked the book its all based on (Do androids dream of electric sheep) and would really hope for a movie based more on the book. if you havent read it its a bit more scitsofrenic and phsykedelic, more like A scanner darkley withc is made bye the same author Phillip K. Dick. if you like scy-fi novels i would check him out, one of my favorits is We Can Remember It for You Wholesale (the book that inspiered to make total recall)
and yeah really loved the adventure game of Blade Runner.
bougth the bluray of the movie a few months ago.. omg really loved the visuals (dont get me wrong loved the movie too but the transition from VHS to bluray was stunning
)
And i dont like the idea of a sequel, cause that would ruin the plot of the first one with the whole unicorn thing and that Deckard is infact a replican himself. that is just for the viewers to ponder aout.
A prequel could be done but had to be a while back before Deckard, and that would bring us to ouer time
and that wouldent word QED

I dident know about it unthil i stubbeld apon it in late 2000, it was lying with alot of shitty games that were for sale and i thougt that it was probobly garbage but i bought it anyway, to my suprise it was superb, but then i lended it to a friend of my dad in exchange for some other games and forgot all about it, then when i read the book i really wanted to play it again but coudent finde it anywere, had to download a rip, and if memmory serves me right its 4 cd's? and a pain to download, still havent found my original and it sadens me :S
Yeah, both of those movies were based off his stories as well.
For some very Blade Runner -style stuff, I would recommend a tv series called Total Recall 2070. Despite the name, it's much closer to Blade Runner. From what I understand, the official word is that the series was based on Dick's original stories which were the basis of those two movies. Still, it has plenty of good original stuff as well (at least in my opinion).

From Wikipedia.
That second part seems intriguing
Prequel
In June 2009, The New York Times reported that Ridley Scott, together with his brother Tony Scott, was working on a prequel to Blade Runner. The prequel, Purefold, will be a series of 5–10 minute shorts, aimed first at the web and then perhaps television, and will be set at a point in time before 2019. Due to rights issues, the series will not be linked too closely to the characters or events of the 1982 film.[140]
On March 4, 2011 IO9 reported that Bud Yorkin, the producer of Blade Runner, is now developing a sequel/prequel to Blade Runner. It was not announced whether this is connected to Ridley Scott or any of the other original members of the film.[141], though it is reported that Christopher Nolan, who has worked with Warner Bros. many times in the past, is wanted at the helm of any eventual prequel or sequel.[142]
