on those bored days where you can watch someone else playing a game just to see the story line haha

i'm not a fan of the random cursing though. seems like it's geared towards some kids

what do you guys think about the game?
I was planning on getting the game but...my xbox 360 is broken. The video doesn't display on the tv. Audio works, video doesn't.

I've only played a couple of chapters, but it seems fairly decent. Well paced, a mysterious plot that unravels slowly but surely, creepy characters, and a seemingly innocent small town. I like how the story is told to the player.

It just feels... I dunno, right, somehow.

But, like the rest of humanity, I'm kinda stuck with Red Dead Redemption at the moment, so I'll have to get back to Alan Wake later on

Gday, I have played through Alan Wake and liked it for the most part. Wasnt as great as I was hoping for though. Still liked Heavy rain a lot more because the story was way more interesting. I would love them to make a new Tex in the style of Heavy Rain. As I was playing through it I was thinking that a lot. cheers :)
By the way Fred, I just started Red Dead Redemption two nights ago. I am enjoying it so far but have only played about 4 or so hours. How far you into it mate? cheers
Unless there's a PC, PS3 or MAC version, I won't be touching it. They're making a grave mistake by only having it on the one platform. I'm extremely surprised that of all companies, Remedy have elected to do this, especially as PC Gamers form the roots of their fan base.
I've noticed that too that companies don't seem to care about PC gamers anymore.

I'm with you Joel. I was looking forward to this game for like 5 years. I loved Max Payne 1 and 2, and couldn't wait to see what Remedy came up with next. I fully expected a PC release, and while i can bet there will be one in like 6 months, a 360 exclusive really turns me sour from a company like this. =/

(it doesn't help that the game looks awesome and i really really want to play it) ^^

Hynaman, Welcome to the boards, so good to see a new face... Please be sure to stick around awhile, plenty of things get discussed here, I'm sure we'll peak your interest in one way or another...

I dunno, maybe 10 hours or so? Not ready to discuss spoilers, as time spent in a sandbox game is not equivalent to hours spent on the story mode.

Been a heavy week. And still two more night shifts to go before some (well-deserved!) time off!

Thanks for the welcome Bafitis! :o I am sure to stick around for a long time. I am a long time reader on this site just never got around to registering :P Also I love just sharing thoughts and ideas abouts games on all systems out there. Like most of us on these boards my dream come true game would be of course a new Tex :)

On the topic of Red Dead Redemption from a tad earlier I have now sunk iabout 10 or so hours into it as well. It keeps getting better and better. Fun missions as well as great setting. I was never a massive Grand theft auto fan but I am enjoying the setting and story so far so pretty impressed to date.

It's all the publisher, Microsoft. I was also really looking forward to playing Alan Wake, and it was indeed first announced on the PC, and the first demos shown of the game was on the PC (I particularly remember a demo for Intel quadcore showing Alan Wake). Then Microsoft entered into a deal with Remedy. Following a brief period of no PR, suddenly it was only announced to be an Xbox360 exclusive. Pity.
Heavy Rain is fantastic for anyone into adventures - lovely choice driven story lines. I loved it and have played it through a number of times.

I would have liked to have played Alan Wake but have a PS3.

Thinking of dipping into Red Dead Redemption but I must finish some of my other games first!
I've recently finished the story mode for Red Dead Redemption, and I have to say, the ending is nothing short of legendary.
