Just a quick question to anyone out there playing Pandora - who has experienced a crash/lockup when in Autotech - more specifically the Evidence Room?
If I walk too close to the degauss machine (2-3 feet), my system locks up with a short beep and needs restarting. It happened one other time when I was on Chandler Avenue.
I'm playing in true DOS and don't have any other problems playing the game.
Here's the system:
Pentium 4 3Ghz
2GB DDR400 RAM
Geforce 6800GT
Soundblaster AWE64
Over 5 gigs free HD space

I had this exact problem (crashing in the Evidence Room by the degauss machine) when I was running directly from the Pandora directory using the .AP files. So I tried going back to using my VCD's - well, that corrected the problem - no more crashing! I really can't understand the reason for it! UAKM ran like a charm - no problems at all.

Well, I would certainly think it would. I just ran through the process again of running the game from the directory with the .AP files vs. running with the VCD's. And sure enough the game crashed again by the degauss machine, while running from the directory, but no crash with using the VCD. I know the files were all intact when I copied and pasted then - I didn't receive any warnings or errors to indicate otherwise.i'm_melting_i'm_melting wrote:Hmm. Thanks, Nilo.
Curious issue, this. If any resource files were damaged/missing then the game would prompt for a CD wouldn't it?
I'm at a total loss to come up with an answer on this one.

SeuLunga, are you also running the game off the HD or are you using the disks?
