Anyone here fans of the NEW Battlestar Galactica?

This topic is probably pretty dated now since the show is going into its Fourth Season, but does anybody watch BSG? I'm a huge fan of the show, I have the first 2 seasons of DVD's so far, it's brilliant. It's not so much sci-fi in the traditional StarTrek/Stargate sense, it's more like a gritty, political military drama set in space tinged with some themes explored in Star Trek: Voyager.

Anyone catch it?
Used to watch it.. but recently its become a bit boring and so I've stopped.
I've recently finished with Season 2 and have enjoyed it but i'd love to see some more optimistic stories rather than the grim, sombre signature it seems to have adopted thus far.
So far I only watch one show on TV. And now that Lost is reaching the last couple episodes of season 3, it'll dwindle down to zero shows on TV for the summer. Maybe a decent time to catch up on Battle Star, assuming I can find season one on dvd. I usually only find Season 2.5.

These days I've watched BSG, Deadwood, Dexter, Sopranos and just discovered House. Now there's a show that was aimed at me personally. It's got mystery, intrigues, and a cranky misanthrope who hobbles about on a cane and is generally miserable, sarcastic and downright mean. Not to mention *right*.

I've got a soft spot for surly, miserable bastards who will stop at nothing to do The Right Thing :D

Hence I'm also a fan of Warren Ellis' 'Transmetropolitan'-series. (However that's a DC Vertigo published comic book..)

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Didn't it get axed?

Big fan here! After literally years of watching nothing on TV, I have become quite addicted to Lost and BG, and more-than-casually interested in House. I like the seat-of-the-pants feeling I get from BG, in which the writers and producers only know what's going to happen a few months before the rest of us do - the downside is that it's so much riskier than Lost, in which the trajectory for the whole series is already written. There are perks to both.

Isn't BSG that show where they say frack. Or something like that? I seen a few episodes, and that made me laugh. But I started in the middle of the season, so I just couldn't get into it
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.

It sure frakkin is! It's definitely a show you need to watch from the beginning. When I mean the beginning, i'm not referring to the pilot, I mean right from the mini-series that resulted in the series getting the green light.

No, however it has been heavily speculated that the upcoming season (Season 4) will be its last, if it isn't, Season 5 will definitely be it.
If Season 5 will be it last. They better make it to Earth.:)

I like the orginial 1978-1979 BGC since it had more action/adventure type from planet to planet and battles.

I still watch BSG (new one) but i dunno see how it will survived in the rating. I am disappointed in Scifi to cancel SG-1 Series. I really hope SG 3rd series wil lbe good.

That's if it exists in that particular time period ;)
I really got into this show since a friend recommended it. I've only seen/got season 1 and 2, it really sucks that here in Australia it got dumped half way through season 2 after getting thrown into insulting timeslots. Now the only channel that plays BSG is Foxtel (pay/cable TV) which they're still on the first season I believe. So I can't wait to get my hands on the S3 DVD. I also find my self saying "Frak!" as a part of my everyday vocabulary

I've also checked out the original series, i found it was a bit more sci-fi with the different planets and alien lifeforms. And you gotta love those 70's special effects!
