Is mac Malden a norm or a mutant?

It's Louie that refers to the Lt as "Norm". In PD he looks like a Norm. Of course Chelsee's mutation is one of those great mysteries of life. Anyway, who cares, as our boy has the hots for her!

Hmm. I though he always had that weird nose. But maybe I'm mistaken. I always thought Mac was a mutant.

Considering the police dept.'s implied attitude towards mutants (ie: couldn't care less about Pug's head in the water cooler, and not helping Rook w/ the burglary), I would get the impression that mutants would not be able to work in the police department anyway. I always figured Mac was a norm.

I always thought of him as such as well, but if he had an easily concealable mutation, maybe he could walk among them unnoticed? Chelsea is a mutant, but who knows where/how...

Yeah, but Mac has a nose that just doesn't look human. Not as bad as Beek's, but definitely abnormal.

I asked the same question to actress Suzanne Barnes few years ago whether Chelsee was a mutant or a norm? Heh, she said it in resist kinda way on audio-interview with her if some of you heard audio interview with her 7 years ago.

I think Mac Malden is a Norm and not a Mutant.

Who says a mutation has to be a bad or a strange thing. Isnt it possible that Chelsea's mutation is her beauty. Or maybe it isnt even physical. Maybe her mutation is the kind way that she treats everyone. It is definatly up for consideration that her 'mutation' has been right out in the open the whole time. Her mutation is something that many people dont have in this time, a good face and a kind heart.

I've seen one other person in life with a honker like that. He was a customer, and we all joked about him being the troll that lived under the bridge in the fairy tales. A bit mean perhaps, and nothing I'm too proud of, but the point is, you can be a norm, and have a nose like that.

Based on the fact that Chelsee has hidden the mutation from us for so long it is either something reeally shocking or really minute. I think the latter becuase she would not be so coy about something hideous, rather, she would be more sheepish.

I think her mutation is her attraction to Tex Murphy... becuase let's face it, it's not normal behaviour.

But seriously, it's probably something mental or physical on a very small level. But then again if she had three boobs like the chick on Total Recall then that would be something.

I think that no one really knows, not even the screenwriter or the actors themselves.

I guess the writer just thought it was convenient for the story to make Chelsee a mutant without bothering with such small details like what this mutation actually could be.

Just see it as a little "Tex-Secret".

He's a Norm I dont think the SFPD hires mutants. But I dont get in the cameo he made in Overseer is why he didnt look the way he did in Martian Memorandum and UAKM.
