Rate Access Adventure Games

Yea, I am starting to think I am the only one who has played any of the pre-UAKM games. Even the first two Tex Murphy adventures haven't been ranked here. Maybe that just means I am very old.
Hey I ranked MM and Mean Streets :P They weren't the best games though.

UAKM was probably the first game that we all played.. well it was for me. Pandora was my second and any day now i'll have Overseer :D
I've really only played UAKM, TPD, and TMO.
Yay, I can finally rate Overseer now that I've finished it.

I'll give it a B-, the filming of the game truly is an improvement due to the immersion techniques (aka, using REAL sets for a change), I think the failings are 1. The technology makes it buggy and its not as good quality as Pandora was 2. The interface wasn't an improvement in some cases 3. Silvia Linsky was poorly casted (the original Silvia looked more like Chelsea, hence it made sense why Tex was a little hesitant towards committing to Chelsea)
4. The ending was confusing and a big downer (Tex can't be dead :( ) 5. given that it was the last game Access made, its doubtful we'll ever see what comes next "to be continued" :(

I did enjoy seeing how Tex got his Fedora and Trench coat (also his lighter, smoking habit and booze addiction) Overall thought, it was a HUGE improvement over Mean Streets. Also the Puns towards other games that Access made was just CLASSIC - "under a killing moon, thats a pretty cool name", "Lynx huh... I gotta play that game someday", "reminds me of an old game I use to play on my dad's 486 (about Mean Streets)".

I disliked that they changed the Speeder designs though, the new speeders look major Retarded. UAKM's speeder was what I would've liked.

Also the Blade Runner pun in the clock tower was funny "Oh look! Time to Die :D"

Have you heard the Tex Murphy Radio Theater yet? It only gives a taster of what was to be and leaves alot of mystery so as to give room for a proper continuation, but it does answer 1 or 2 things at least. Should be on the main site.

Good Idea, I'll have a listen :D
Wow I just finished listening to all 6 Episodes and read Episode 7. It was looking to be a very dark vision of Tex Murphy's world. A lot more freaky than Pandora in fact. I love the fact that characters from the last 3 Tex games return.

So Thanks for telling me about that.
Indeed,
The radio theatre story is very awesome. I really hope the Access Boys can finish that in one form or another; either book, or more radio shows, or a game.
Under a Killing Moon - A+

Pandora Directive - A+

Overseer - A+
