Re: Tim Schafer is overrated

Tim Schafer is a wonderfully out of his mind artist, however most of his games are held up by their premises, and not necessarily the gameplay, or the full plot. I love the ideas behind Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and Grim Fandango more than I love ice cream, but eventually the stories start to wear...

Re: The return of Warren Spector and System Shock

System Shock has more in common with 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien than it does with Portal. System Shock is less puzzle game, more atmospheric tech-horror. With the lights off, it's a real treat, and will probably keep you up for hours, if not from the chills you get while playing the game, then ...

Re: Overseer on Windows 10 (64 bit machine)

I have a Windows 7 32-Bit (Mostly because I love games from the early-mid 90s) and this exact error is happening to me also. It happens to me when I play Wing Commander IV, and Jedi Knight and a couple newer games such as 007: Blood Stone. I'm fairly certain it has less to do with your operating sys...

Re: Contradiction - the all-video murder mystery adventure

I love this game. It reminds me of the very best episodes of Columbo, which itself was flawless.

Re: Overseer GOG Anasazi Gear Puzzle Desktop crash

Thanks for all of your help. The saved games worked like a charm. Bosworth Clark's musical tone/keycard puzzle is giving me the same problem as the cogwheel puzzle, so I'm certain that it's the way that the puzzles interface was coded that for some reason is having problems with my computer, althoug...

Re: Overseer GOG Anasazi Gear Puzzle Desktop crash

It is the most recent DVD version of the GOG Overseer client. I have re-installed the client multiple times, and have downloaded the client multiple times. I've never encountered this bug either, and it confuses the hell out of me honestly. All of my other programs are always closed when I run Overs...

Overseer GOG Anasazi Gear Puzzle Desktop crash

Hey mutants! My GOG Overseer client keeps crashing to desktop when I click "move" on the anasazi lever/gear puzzle in the first section of the ruins. Has this happened to anyone else? Would it be possible to get a saved game made for after the door is opened to the inner ruins, or right wh...

Re: Donning the Fedora - A Tesla Effect Documentary

Woah! I loved it! It's absolutely enthralling to hear all of the stories, and this is a darn great documentary! Can't wait for the longer cut!

PS: Props to the guy in the BÖC shirt.

Re: Big question that no-one's addressed thus far ......

Holly Graham, Mojo, and Saffyre all fit on Chandler Avenue so naturally, it's almost like they were there the whole time, just waiting to run into Tex.

I really liked the Knights of the Templar dudes. I wish they could be in the next game, but I can't say I'm surprised that they won't be...

Re: I don't remember Danwicz

Now I want to dig through Martian Memorandum for a reference to the Soup Nazi of the Future. Tesla Effect is one of the most metaphysical love letters to a game series ever. It's just deep.

Re: It's the little things: why I love Tex

And also, if you haven't already been accustomed to the fact. There is a gigantic population of its just like you in the place that you live! You just have to find them, of course. But I'm sure that when you do, they'll love you with open arms like we do! And when I say love, boy do I mean it. Yowza...

Re: It's the little things: why I love Tex

Pston! My dear friend! It sure is a pleasure to make your acquaintance! It's great to see a new Tex Murphy fan posting on here. Hopefully we here at UOTM can make an it like you feel as comfortable as we possibly can. We, in no way, discriminate or belittle anyone for something as binary as what kin...

Re: Did Tesla live up to expectations for you? (major spoile

So... Judging from your scale. Pandora Directive is an A+, and The Tesla Effect is an F?

Re: I'm undecided on Tesla Effect

I agree that the game had a pretty casual feel. I however, feel that this casual feel serves as a combination of the different styles between UAKM and Pandora. It kind of feels on the middle of that scale, with the branching paths, but with the Tesla conspiracy being fairly on the small scale. I ded...
