Well, I got the game saves from Nilo (Thanks Nilo!) and that got me into Cell Block B. Of course, my first act after getting there was to (unknowingly) open the door back to Cell Block A, at which time I got the error again. Oh well, next time I knew better and was back to playing again. Thanks ever...

Well, my visit to the site Fandorin posted was worthwhile, even if it did not get Overseer working. I bought Riven (the sequel to Myst) years ago but never loaded it until I had a system with XP, and I could never get it to work. There was a fix listed on this site that got Riven working, so once I ...

Fandorin and Nilo - thanks for the suggestions...

I've already tried disabling MIDI with no effect. I'm already at 800 x 600, but I'll try changing the resolution to something else and try that.

Nilo, if this doesn't work, I'll email you - thanks.

No error message - just a crash to the desktop. I follow the little flying robot around the corner, and then get the crash.

I've tried playing with a number of settings, but nothing seems to make any difference.

Tex Murphy Overseer - Problem in Cell Block

Hello all. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one still playing the Tex Murphy games! I am just about done with Overseer, and have had relatively few problems. I am playing the CD version (didn't know how to get the DVD version running, until now). I got past the error message at the gallery thanks to...
