Re: Poisoned Pawn?

if you want to know more about the game visit https://discord.gg/aDH8du6 I have already been reading those posts. Nothing indicates the game is anywhere near completion. And that is all because they gave up on simply making a remake for Overseer, which was what Tex fans had all wanted in the first ...

Re: Poisoned Pawn?

the guys are not getting paid for the work they are doing. They have always been that way. But they actually had a realistic timeline at the beginning when they had a smaller game in mind. They started development in late 2014 and at one time expected to finish at the end of 2018. Then they decided...

Re: Poisoned Pawn?

Working in their spare time means they are progressing at a slow rate, and they could lose money from that too as time goes on. The tech they use may become outdated, and they'll need to spend extra money upgrading their computers and game engines. What if VR is no longer a thing when the game final...

Re: Poisoned Pawn?

Indie projects are usually tight on money. If there is any apparent delay, it's usually due to money issues. Running out of money would immediately stop a project in its tracks due to layoffs and cutbacks. In these projects, game design skills are not as important as how well they MANAGE MONEY. Tesl...

Re: 17 Years

Here is an interesting video on why there aren't flying cars and likely never will be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdAQefnZsLk Basically, the need to travel vertically has already been served by tunnels, bridges, overpasses, subways, and helicopters. Also, if your flying car malfunctions in the...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

...But when I "look" at an object and hear Tex's comments, I cannot move until Tex finishes talking. The original game lets you go back to movement mode while you hear Tex. Some of Tex's dialog is long, so you may want to let the player move while he is talking. You can click on the left mouse butt...

Re: UAKM for Windows - Teaser

The UI changes are definitely in the right direction. But when I "look" at an object and hear Tex's comments, I cannot move until Tex finishes talking. The original game lets you go back to movement mode while you hear Tex. Some of Tex's dialog is long, so you may want to let the player move while h...

Re: "Making of Tex Murphy" Documentary Party and Special Eve

This video is certainly better than I had expected. I thought we would only get a 15-minute blooper reel type of video like one of the backer's rewards. But a 43-minute of nicely-edited video that feels like an actual documentary is terrific. The end credits show the names of all the backers, I beli...

Re: Oculus Rift - virtual reality headset

On expert predicts that it will only sell half as well due to high price, lack of content, and unattractive form factor, LOL. I agree with the last part: the thing looks ugly.

Re: Why Not Put Tex on the "Steam" site?

And as I said, that's hardly "ages". Tex games came to GOG in 2009. Now, *that's* ages, because that's 7 years. If OP had asked about GOG, then you would've been right.

Re: Another, cool adventure game

Now we're talking. I enjoyed "Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy" a lot. But this is an old game, and only works best on XP. On Windows 7 and beyond, you have to switch to windowed mode to avoid video artifacts.

Re: Alone in the Dark Remasterd

Sadly, the feedbacks from critics and gamers have been so negative that I likely won't play this one.

Oculus Rift - virtual reality headset

Anyone planning to get this? As all of you must know, our beloved Tesla Effect is one of the supported games. Chris also made a video pitch for it . That was 2 years ago. After much delay, the release of OR is finally imminent. But the PC system requirements are STIFF, reportedly the equivalent of p...
