Now don't get me wrong, I know that every cent counts and we appreciate, as Chris and Aaron do, any and all contributions made toward the Kickstarter, but isn't it odd that two people would opt for the $5.00 option when they can just have the whole thing for another $5.00. Again, a very polite nod for their participation, but seriously, don't they kind of feel they're ripping themselves off?

I like to think of them having done it for a laugh, either with an addittional Kickstarter account (if its possible to have more than one) or later they're going to be the ones who provide a last minute spike jumping to 10k right at the end  Maybe secretly they have set up a Wallpaper club. In the chat we thought up some ideas. Like maybe they thought it was going to be real actual wallpaper with fedoras on that'd look nice in their living room. Or maybe they thought Chris Jones dressed as Tex Murphy would come wallpaper their house. With that in mind $5 sounds like a great deal
Of course they could also just of been invited from Facebook by a friend and not know about the Tex Murphy series but needed a nice new noir wallpaper for their PC. :)
Anyway I agree every little counts so thanks all who donate.

I was hoping it would stick at 1 person, because it's just damn funny.

You know, if it stayed at 1 person, I would have no complaints if Chris and Aaron flew them over for a studio tour just to see who it was.

I suppose I can understand the $5 folks. I put a few bucks on the Carmageddon Kickstarter just to test out my account.

Jerry Dan made two separate accounts and donated both five dollar amounts. Here is the convo I had with him for proof.

Pizza: Hey Jerry.
Jerry: I made two separate accounts and donated both five dollars amount....screw Tex.
Pizza: bye jerry

Jerry evidently just made a 3rd account to spite freepizza for revealing his private conversation.

I feel like I need to join this Wallpaper party! It's like an exclusive club. 8)

Naturally its Jerry making a Kickstarter account for each Amazon account they have. They got .com, .co.uk, .ca and .fr covered. Just 5 more to go.

Patience, now, I have to wait for a few things tying up my investments to clear up, and then I'll have the necessary $25. No hard feelings, guys: I just need so darned many versions of the wallpapers, since you can't duplicate files with DRM.

Actually, my hypothesis is that they're here to support other Kickstarter projects. It takes a pledge to participate in the comments, so if you chip in for the lowest tier pledge, you can then shill for your main project from the inside.

Frankly, I think if it's done without being obnoxious, it's completely legit. I encouraged people on the TM:PF comment thread to do it on related projects, because everyone wins. I was going to buy the new Jensen game anyway, so why not throw $15 or $20 bucks toward it and make a perfectly civilized observation on her comments like, "It's awesome we get to support so many cool adventure IPs right now, like Space Quest and Tex Murphy Project Fedora, too! Maybe we'll get a new GK out it!"

Your audience consists of people who've already donated to the "host" project, so you aren't taking money from anyone, and you're legitimately supporting the whole community while getting the word out about your particular project of emphasis. Kosher?

Heck, that's how *I* learned about the Jensen project, from the Tex comments. =P
