Blake Edwards has passed on, 88 years old. He directed, among other films, Breakfast at Tiffany's and the Pink Panther-films. The originals, anyway.

My favorite was A Shot in the Dark.

Isn't this a bit dark for the holiday season?

Sorry, I seem to be raining on everybody's parade lately.

Yes it is, but when you think about it, we should have probably did this a while back... It's always dark to have death around the holidays, but it's all part of the circle of life I suppose...

I'm just trying to collect it all in one thread, to avoid the board being riddled with bad news.

But instead, let's try and remember them fondly. Which, I'm sure you'll agree, is a lot more in tune with the season.

Lynne, are suggesting they have wireless connections in heaven? What a cool idea!

As for this thread and it's timely (or, rather, untimely) beginning, let us keep in mind that death never takes a holiday and respects no person regardless of their lot in life. Also, this thread may help us to keep things in perspective, i.e., the survivors who have lost loved ones especially this time of the year. Regrettable but unavoidable.

Yes, Blake Edwards left us with many fond memories like the PP series.

First weekend of the New Year and I've got 2 to add to the list... So Sad...

Anne Francis, if you're a fan of Forbidden Planet you should know who she is... She did other things, but FP is one of her most notable roles...

Next is well known Pete Postlethwaite...

2011 is already making itself known...

I really like Pete's roles, especially in Jurassic Park II.

Anne Francis was eye catching in Forbidden Planet. her co-star was none other than Leslie Nielson who passed away last year.

Damn... I was just watching an infomercial advertising the Jack LaLanne juicer last night. I shall have a glass to strawberry classic in his honour!

When I was a kid back in the 50's (1950's for any smart alecs out there) we used to watch Jack's brief exercise program. That was when it wasn't popular but he was. To think he was in his 40's at the time and was still looking fit for some commercials not too long ago is really quite spectacular. Sorry he is gone.

Gerry Rafferty - not too familiar with him, Baf. Give us a little background music on his life (sorry for the bad pun).

The only song from the 70s that has not ages one bit, in my opinion at least.
