Hope someone can help! I bought pandora from 'gog' about a week ago as it's the only tex game I havn't played. I have reached Day 4 and I'm playing in entertainment mode (will do gp another time) and have used the tracker to find the box hidden in the sewer. I use the chisel and see the videoclip of tex loosening the tile and then the game just freezes with the music still playing. I can move the mouse and the chisel is still in hand but I can't click anything and have to do a ctrl-alt-dlt to close dosbox. I have tryed restarting day 4 and doing things in a different order but still reach the same dead end. has anyone else experienced this? could it just be a bug in ET mode?

First off, Welcome to our Community...

No a glitch or bug that I've ever experienced... You'd probably be better off checking www.gog.com forum to see if the problem has occurred to anyone else...

Unless someone else here knows of this bug issue??? Plumgas, Sam, anyone else???

I'm sorry that you've hit a snag with Pandora... I feel for you, you have missed out on the BEST game of the series, voted by most to be best anyway... You're in for quite the treat...

Might I advise this, if you don't get an answer from anyone who has experienced this problem, then I might suggest to you that you start a New Game in Gamer Mode and play through to the Sewer scene and see if you lock up when you go to get the Box...

If you are able to get the box, you can leave Gamer Mode simply by looking at the Hints if you don't want to continue the game in Gamer Mode...

If you have to do it this way, please report back and let us know if it worked or not... You may have very well found something that has been over looked due to most people playing the game via Gamer Mode...

Best of luck, I hope you get it sorted out...

its common, restart the game & stand back from the box & then click on it.

this error started when the game was changed to the hard disk version. For some reason the chisel gets stuck on your mouse pointer.

you will find it again when on the top level at roswell. Just remember with pandora you can click on things from a distance, keep that in mind when you reach roswell at the laser field & the dynamite.

this has nothing to do with gamer mode, it just happens unless you stand back

Explains why I haven't experienced it then... I always give myself some space unless I don't have a choice...

Thanks for the heads up... ;}

In game space if you were to eye ball it and estimate the distance, I probably stand a good 3 meters away from the Box in the Sewer...

hmmm, as for the Dynamite in Roswell, I probably stand, ohhh I guess maybe 150 meters away... hehehe
I guess that room is about that big, what do you think Plum???

well just don't stand up close the brick wall, walking down the isle I always have my mouse on the wall until I see the move come up & then I get the chisel. funny thing is when you close it down & restart the chisel has disappeared & the brick has gone & you see the box.

same again upstairs at roswell when you try to use the oxy kit on the door the pointer gets stuck. I think it's the video scene that does it. as you watch tex open the door & then you get the crash.

this never happened years ago but now it does, so I assume it's during the file conversion when all the examine files get binded together.

That's good to know. I'm like Baf, I usually don't get close to objects and click from afar. As for the bomb at Roswell, I do it as far away as possible to give me plenty of time to exit the laser field before getting blown up. I'm not that fast running through the maze.

Dr. Jules Hilbert: Harold, if you pause to think, you'd realize that that answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led... and, of course, the quality of the pancakes.

my post - quote
Just remember with pandora you can click on things from a distance, keep that in mind when you reach roswell at the laser field & the dynamite.

it doesn't happen with the dynamite, I was just giving a hint that you can stand at the back of the laser field to light the dynamite & then just go out the door. All you have to do it keep your pointer on the dynamite when you light the match.

you don't need to stand back that far bafitis just away from the brick wall a bit & upstairs at roswell once again stand back from the door with the oxy kit.

I had the same bug you describe in the sewers, and it's definitively something to do with the video. What I did to fix it was to skip the video sequence after I restarted - then my cursors didn't get stuck with the chisel.

You don't have to Skip the Video, just don't stand so close to the Brick that you have to move...

I'm nowhere in the laserfield when I click the lit dynamite on the door. I think this strategy was overlooked by the games designers.

I use to stand back, but the last couple of times I've played it, I do it near the door just for the added fun of getting out in time...
But yes I think it was a small piece of programming that was forgotten... Because before you're ready for the Dynamite, if you try to open the door from the other side of the laser field Tex says "I'm going to have to get closer for that."... The same block should have been put it for the Dynamite...
