Law and Order
Party Headquarters
When Tex visits Law and Order for the second
time, the guard is nowhere to be seen, but he's got to be around here
somewhere. We'd better act quickly, before he comes back.
Those double doors behind
the security station are open this time. This might be our golden
opportunity. Go through the doors, and enter the Reception Hall. |
During our last visit, you might
have noticed that the security station has a monitor for every room
in the building. Including the Reception Hall. Now that we're in
here, you can see it just above the Law and Order symbol hanging
between the two sets of double doors.
If the guard comes back and sees
us in here, we're toast. And if we disable the monitor, he'll come
to investigate whats wrong with the camera. We need to make him
think there's nobody in here. Now, how can we do that?
Remember the pamphlet
we found last time in the men's bathroom? The one with Robert Knott's
picture? That pamphlet had another picture on it. One of this Reception
Hall -- empty. If we could somehow prop that picture in front of the
camera, we'd be set. The area around the camera is pretty bare, though.
Nothing to prop the pamphlet on. We'd better find something...quickly! |
Ah...this might work.
There's a music stand over in the corner of the room. It's not tall
enough as it is, but if you get and examine it, Tex will extend the
base of the stand. |
Now, combine the stand
with the pamphlet. |
Use the combination on
the video camera. Tex will place the pamphlet in front of the camera... |
...uh...Tex?...........
There we go. |
With the camera taken
care of, we're free to snoop at our leisure. Although...something
seems strangely sinister in this room. Take a look at the flags that
circle the ceiling, and discover a dark side to the Law and Order
Party that you never imagined possible... |
Anyway...cross the room,
and move the Law and Order Party "beach towel." Ooh, a door.
There doesn't seem to be a way in, though. |
The Ozonator next to
the door seems to have a large hole in it. Law and Order should really
get that fixed. Wait a second...why would they hide th Ozonator behind
the banner along with the door, unless it has something to do with
it. Maybe that hole isn't a defect after all. |
Maybe if we blindly stick
something in that hole, we'll be able to open the door. Over on the
buffet table is a large dish, with chopsticks sticking out of the
food inside. Chopsticks are good for sticking in holes, so grab 'em. |
Go back to the Ozonator
and use the chopsticks on it. The door won't open, but the Ozonator
will slide out from the wall, revealing a passcard slot. |
Considering all the work
it's taking to open this door, I'd guess this qualifies as a high
security area. And we just happen to have Robert Knott's high security
I.D. badge. Use the Level 4 I.D. badge in the card scanner, and the
door will slide open. Go through it. |
Hmm...the only person we know of
at Law and Order who would have a need for a lab is none other than
John Klaus himself. This must be his Little Shop of Horrors.
On the floor in fron tof Klaus's
desk is a note. Pick it up and examine it. Looks like Klaus has
been doing a little eavesdropping on Robert Knott.
On Klaus's desk is a
photograph. Get it and examine it. What the...?! Gideon, too?! No
wonder he was concerned when Tex showed him the picture of Sylvia
and Schimming. |
Time to rifle through Klaus's desk.
In the top drawer is a note. Grab it and examine it.
Crusade For Genetic Purity? Bah!
That's never going to get anywhere... People won't put up with that
-- will they?
Across the room, on the
other desk, is a tape recorder. Turn it on and listen. When you've
convinvced yourself that John Klaus is a sicko, turn the recorder
back off. |
On the other end of the table is
a tray of surgical tools. Under that part of the table is a motorized
drawer. Open it, and get the cat picture inside.
Examine the picture, and you'll see
that Lescat is actually made of pieces of a cut up STG card. Something
tells me that Lescat was not the name of Klaus's childhood pet.
I'd bet almost anything that it's the accompanying password.
Examine the card pieces
to assemble the card. |
On top of the patient monitoring
console, under the drink and sandwich, is a piece of paper with
John Klaus's name on it. Get it and examine it.
This proves it, John Klaus was trying
to get the STG "Overlord" technology for the Law and Order
Party.
I don't know
about you, but that's all the proof I need. Time to head back to the
office and plan our next move. First, though, we have to distract
the guard, who is surely back at his station by now. How can we get
the guard away from his post? After being duped by Tex last time,
I'll bet the guard is on extra strong alert now, so he probably won't
leave unless it's absolutely important. Like if he had to follow orders
that took him into another room maybe? |
Klaus's memo from the
floor of his office made it absolutely clear that he wanted all calls
to Robert Knott's office answered. I'll bet the guard is under those
orders, too. Go back out to the Reception Hall and find the courtesy
phone. It's under the four portraits of the dogs. |
Turn on the phone. Now,
what did the memo say was Robert Knott's extension number? 107. Dial
107 on the phone. |
Quickly! Leave the Reception
Hall and go to the lobby. Use the Level 4 I.D. badge on the front
door and exit. Travel to Tex's office. |
