From the balcony, Tex can see a briefcase handcuffed to the bed. I'll bet there are answers to be found in that case, we've just got to find some way to get it. If we're going to do that, first we need a way inside. The sliding door is locked.

Approach the window to the right of the door and look at the kitchen counter inside. There's a key in there. Maybe even the key we need to get in. But if it's in there, and we're out here, how are we going to get it? Maybe we could get it through the window somehow.

We'll need something to reach in, grab the key, and then pull back out. The key, however, is pretty far away. We'd need something pretty long to reach that far. There doesn't seem to be anything that long lying around out here, and there's nothing in the inventory long enough, either. Unless...it was retractable. Like a tape measure. Of course, we still need something to grab the key with. Something sticky would help, but we don't have anything. Hmm...we do have something... attractive though.

In the inventory combine the tape measure with the magnet from Bosworth Clark's lab.

Use the magnet and tape measure on the kitchen counter, and Tex will get the key.
Use the key on the sliding glass door, and enter the room.

As luck would have it, Slade's in the shower. However, he could come out at any time. If that happens, we'd better have a hiding space picked out ahead of time. That closet looks like the perfect place. Now, with that out of the way, it's back to snooping...

In his line of work, Slade has become very observant, and if anything is out of place when he gets out of the shower, he'll know someone is in his room. During your search, be sure to put everything back the way you found it. If you open it, close it. If you move it, move it back. If you don't, you're as good as dead.

Close the sliding glass door once you're inside!

There's a small table next to the sliding door, with a wallet sitting on top. Take the wallet and examine it.

That confirms it. Big Jim Slade is the man who killed Bosworth Clark -- and, as far as we know, Sonny.

Inside Slade's wallet is a scrap of paper and a lottery ticket.
Examine the lottery ticket.  Evidently Slade's a gamblin' man.
Examine the scrap of paper. So, Robert Knott is giving Slade's orders. But why would Law and Order want to kill Bosworth Clark?
Put Slade's wallet back on the table!
Open the door just to the left of the table and go into the next room.
In the living room area, move the right-hand pillow on the couch and get the chart underneath.
Examine the chart. We'll need to find something to decode this with.
Move the pillow back to it's original position!
Go to the kitchen area and approach the drawers to the right of the fridge.  Open the second drawer from the top.
Get the Bible from inside.
Close the drawer!
Return to the bedroom.
Open the closet door. Slade's clothes are hanging inside. Take them. Once you do, Slade's phone will start to ring. Quick! Examine Slade's clothes. Tex will find a post office box key.
If you aren't standing inside the closet already, get there!! Close the closet door behind you, and hang Slade's clothes back up. Wait in the closet, and Slade will come to answer his phone...

Sounds like Slade has already offed six people... and that he's not done yet.

After Slade goes into the kitchen, leave the closet. Close the door behind you!
Open the bathroom door and go inside. Close the door behind you!
Get Slade's jacket hanging on the bathroom door and examine it. Tex will find a handcuff key.
Hang Slade's jacket back on the bathroom door. When you do, Tex will hear Slade approaching. Quick! Turn around, and open the shower curtains! Step inside and close the curtains behind you!
Slade will come get his jacket and return to the kitchen area. Wait until you hear the sound of the television, then get out of the shower, and go back out to the bedroom.
In the bedroom, use the handcuff key from Slade's jacket on the briefcase handcuffed to the bed. Tex will automatically pick up the briefcase.
Cross the room to the sliding glass door, open it, and leave. Travel to Tex's office.
