Day One Day Two Day Three Day Four Day Five Day Six Day Seven Day Eight

Anasazi Ruins (cont.)

This time, follow the passage all the way to the end. Say, that thing on the wall looks remarkably like the figure in the guidebook. Methinks we've found the "special altar."

Approach the altar, and use one of the bricks on it to get a closer view.

Think back to what the book said: "According to legend a deep secret would be revealed to anyone who could ensure that no brick was in line with another either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This would allow each god to be the master of their own domain."

All Seinfeld jokes aside, you need to place the bricks in the slots in the altar so that no two bricks are in the same row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Then, supposedly, a great secret will be revealed.

Brick Placement

Final Solution

First column - Fourth row
Second column - First row
Third column - Fifth row
Fourth column - Eighth row
Fifth column - Second row
Sixth column - Seventh row
Seventh column - Third row
Eighth column - Sixth row

Once the final brick is in place, you'll hear a rumbling noise, and the large door at the top of the steps to your left will open, revealing another passageway.

Climb the stairs and enter the passageway. Follow the corridor until you reach the next chamber.
As you enter the chamber, turn to the right. On the floor there are several strips of leather. Tex remarks that this must've been the local Jerky Hut. Pick up the strips.
Continue through the other door of the chamber...but watch your footing!!

In your inventory, combine the leather strips wth the long poles.
Then combine the "long poles, strips" with the short poles to create a very crude, very rickety ladder. Hey, you work with what you got, right?
Continue out of the chamber again and walk out onto the ledge. Use the ladder on the far side of the chasm, and Tex will get across...albeit the hard way...

...*snap!*...
