Following the directions in Sonny's letter,
Tex travels to an old Anasazi ruin, near Tuscon, Arizona. With any luck,
this is where Bosworth Clark is hiding.

 |
When you
first arrive at the ruins, there will be a set of stairs to the left
in front of you. Climb them, and open the door at the top. |
 |
Enter the chamber beyond
the door, and turn to your right. On the floor there are two small
pots, and a small rectangular brick. Get the brick. Judging from the
picture on the end of the brick, it looks like this thing might have
some sort of cultural significance. |
 |
 |
Exit the chamber, and go back down
the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, turn to the left, and go
up to what appears to be a cog mechanism on the wall. "Move"
the cogs to get a closer view.
Is it just me, or does this seem
a little...I don't know...technically advanced for an ancient Native
American race? Oh well, back at it...
Using the three levers at the top,
you must rotate the cogs until the red dots on the cogs line up
with the red dots on the wall. We could literally spend hours here,
trying to get the dots lined up, but lets do it the easy way.
|
 |
 |
Move the lever above
the left cog upward once. |
 |
Move the lever above
the middle cog upward three times. |
Voila'! A huge chunk of brick slides out
of the wall, exposing a secret compartment. Inside is another one of those
ceremonial bricks.
 |
Get the brick from the
secret compartment. These things have just got to be useful somehow.
Why else would this one have been hidden away in the wall? |
 |
 |
Head back to where you
started from when you first arrived, but go off to the right before
you get there. There should be a well in the ground just off to the
side from where you started. Approach the well and look down inside.
There's a bucket down there, and what's inside? Another one of those
ceremonial bricks. We'll have to find a way to bring that bucket up
to our level. |
 |
Now, turn to your left.
On the far wall is a door. Go through it. The door to your left as
you approach will not open, so just keep going straight. |
 |
Once through the door,
turn left and get the two long poles lying on the ground. |
 |
 |
Leave the area with the
alcoves and continue on from the door you came through. To your left
will be a large Private Property sign. On the ground, just to the
left of the sign, is another brick you need to get. |
 |
 |
Go back to the area with
the alcoves, and go through the door. |
 |
Get the piece of pipe
on the ground to the right as you enter, then continue down the passage. |
 |
 |
Pick up the small pot
in the middle of the passage. Underneath is...you may have guessed
already...another brick. You know what to do. |
 |
 |
Keep going down the passage
until you find a vine on a stick. Get it. |
 |
 |
Re-trace
your route back through the passageway until you're back outside.
Go past the Private Property sign to the old tree at the far end of
the ruins. |
 |
In front
of the tree, on the ground, is an old book. Pick it up and examine
it. |
 |
| So...that's what those
bricks are for. First, we need to find all the bircks, and then find
the "special altar" the book mentions. The book says there
are eight bricks in all, and we have five. Only three more to go.
Let's get cracking... |
 |
 |
To the left of the tree
is another set of stairs. Before you climb them, though, look in the
small space to the right of the stairs. Brick number six. Pick it
up. Now climb the steps, and enter the door at the top. |
 |
 |
This room looks like
some kind of ceremonial hot tub room. As you walk in, turn to the
left and get the yucca rope hanging from the window. You may have
to look up to see it. |
 |
On the other side of
the room is a pile of sticks. Go around the pit in the floor and get
them. |
Uh-oh...did you hear that? When you went
around to get the sticks, did you hear a strange noise? Sounded sort of
like...a rattle. Sounds like it came from that small opening in the wall
near the floor. Ohh...great. Hold still... There's a rattlesnake under
there. Looks like he's wrapped around something, too. Aw...shoot...it's
one of the ceremonial bricks. We need that. I sure as heck wouldn't stick
my hand in there to get it, and I don't reccommend you do it either. If
there was just some way to lure him out of there and get him out of the
way. Wait a sec...maybe if we...
 |
In your inventory, combine
the vine on a stick with the wooden box. |
 |
 |
Now, get out your little
buddy, Raymond (the Toy Mouse). Combine him with the box and the vine
on a stick. |
| Crude, but
hopefully effective. Must be something Tex learned back in his Weeblos
days. |
 |
Use the completed trap
on the rattlesnake. |
 |
With the snake out of
the way (Thanks, Raymond, and God speed little friend), reach in and
grab the brick. |
 |
Only one brick left to get, and that's
the one down at the bottom of the well. Head back there.
 |
At the well, combine the
yucca rope with the section of pipe. |
 |
Use the rope and pipe
on the bucket at the bottom of the well to get the eighth and final
brick. |
 |
Well, we've got all the bricks, now we
just need to find that "special altar" the guidebook talked
about. The only place we haven't explored yet is further down that passage
where the piece of pipe and brick #4 were located. Go back to the area
with the three alcoves and the Private Property sign, and re-enter the
door there.
