Ask Detective Clements about Sonny Fletcher.
Jeez, is everyone in this town a friend of The Colonel? Ask Clements about
Sonny's criminal record, and she'll give you the address to his apartment.
End the conversation and travel to Sonny Fletcher's apartment.

Sonny Fletcher's
Apartment
|
"The address Detective Clements
got from Sonny Fletcher's parole officer turned out to be a filthy, vermin-infested
motel. It was a dump, and it smelled like a Port-a-Potty at a chili cook-off."
"Ew. Okay, okay. I get the point."
"Sorry. I just couldn't imagine
why Carl Linsky would hire a detective who lived in a place like that."
Um...Tex? You...live...never mind. When
Tex arrives at Sonny Fletcher's apartment and knocks on the door, a small
peephole opens. Sonny peers through from the other side and demands to
know what Tex wants.

Sonny lets Tex in and, after some
persistence on Tex's part, tells Tex the story behind his affiliation
with Carl Linsky. Linsky had hired Sonny to track down a list of
people. Sonny found two of the names on the list, Val Davis and
Rona Morgan, but he found them too late. They were already dead.
After that, Sonny decided to drop the case. Tex pushes him for more
information, and Sonny remembers something that Linsky had asked
him to hold on to -- a black bishop. He gives the bishop to Tex,
along with a warning to get off the case immediately.
Once Tex leaves Sonny's apartment,
travel to Carl Linsky's warehouse.

Didja'
Notice?: As Sonny picks up Carl Linsky's bishop, look at what
the bishop is sitting on - - a Martian Memorandum box. |
 |
Examine the bishop. Tex
will discover that the bottom of the piece can be removed. Inside
is the missing piece of Carl Linsky's passcard. |
 |
Combine the missing passcard
piece with the other pieces (the ones from inside the Heal-Aid box). |
 |
Examine the
passcard pieces to assemble Carl Linsky's passcard. You end up with
what appears to be a passcard for some company called STG. Linsky's
card is marked "E," which means there must be at least four
others out there somewhere -- maybe more. |
 |
| |
 |
 |
Now that Linsky's passcard is assembled,
maybe we can get access to his computer. Use Linsky's passcard reader
on the computer, and Tex will hook it up. |
 |
Use Linksy's passcard on the computer.
A screen comes up asking for a password. Hmm.... |
 |
Remember Linsky's note hidden behind
the bulletin board? The one that said "HIP S.O.B." Maybe
that's the password for the computer. If you type this in, however,
it won't work. "HIP S.O.B." is actually a scrambled version
of the password. Of course, you could make quite a few words out of
those six letters: OBSHIP, POSHIB, SPHIBO, etc. Before we try every
possible combination, think back to what the missing passcard piece
was hidden in. A bishop. Re-arrange "HIP S.O.B." and BISHOP
is one of the words you can spell. Type in the word BISHOP into the
computer, and a message will appear on the screen. |

MR. FLETCHER:
IF SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED TO ME, YOU CAN BE SURE IT WAS MURDER.
LET MY DAUGHTER, SYLVIA, KNOW. AT THIS POINT, I CAN'T SAY FOR CERTAIN
WHO WOULD WANT ME DEAD, THOUGH IT MAY BE RELATED TO THE PROJECT
I CONTRACTED TO WORK ON. OTHER THAN VAL DAVIS, RONA MORGAN, AND
BOSWORTH CLARK, I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT THE NAMES OF THE
OTHERS INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT. IF YOU CAN TRACK DOWN BOSWORTH CLARK,
HE MAY BE THE BEST BET FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
ALSO, I HAVE AN ADDRESS FOR YOU
TO CHECK OUT: ROUTE 12, BOX 4, FRESNO, CA 9365002. WHOEVER'S
RUNNING THE PROJECT COULD BE BASED THERE.

Sonny said he had already found Val Davis
and Rona Morgan, and that they were dead, but he never mentioned Bosworth
Clark. Maybe he's still alive. Right now, however, we have a solid, concrete
address to go to in Fresno. Carl Linsky seemed to think it might be important,
so let's head there next.
